BitBox Software Update: VAG Bosch MG1CA811 Support Released
BitSoftware has released an essential update for the BitBox flasher, expanding the capability of the Bosch MG1/MD1 BENCH [SM2/SM3 ONLY] module. This latest release adds full support for VAG group vehicles equipped with Bosch MG1CA811 Engine Control Units (ECU) powered by the SPC58 microcontroller.
Technical Features and Capability Overview
The newly added Bosch MG1CA811 protocol enables precise operations without opening the ECU, ensuring safe and reliable bench-mode work.
Key Operations Supported:
- Bench mode flashing — direct pinout connection without opening the ECU enclosure.
- Real reading and writing — full control over internal flash memory.
- Automatic checksum correction — applied during the write process to guarantee safe operation.
Required Equipment:
- BitBox USB dongle with active license for Bosch MG1/MD1 BENCH module.
- Scanmatik 2 Pro or Scanmatik 3 interface (SM2/SM3 ONLY).
- For proper module operation, it is recommended to use a reliable Boot-Bench adapter (e.g., Scanmatik TunerWire).
- Stable bench power supply (12V–14V) with proper pinout connections.
