BitBox Software Update: Delphi MT05.9 Motorcycle Support Released
BitSoftware has released an essential update for the BitBox flasher, expanding the capabilities of our project’s very first module — Delphi MT05. This latest release introduces full support for Delphi MT05.9 Engine Control Units (ECU) widely installed in various brands of Chinese-manufactured motorcycles and powersports equipment.
Technical Features and Protocol Capabilities
The newly added Delphi MT05.9 protocol is powered by the NXP SPC572 microcontroller with 1.5MB internal flash memory, enabling reliable reading and flashing operations via the diagnostic port or directly on the bench.
Key Operations Supported:
- Software identification — accurate detection of ECU software and firmware versions.
- FullFlash reading — complete memory dump retrieval with automatic flash size detection.
- Calibration writing — fast and safe calibration table writing.
- Automatic checksum correction — integrated checksum calculation applied during the writing process.
Required Hardware and Compatibility
To perform flashing and reading operations with the Delphi MT05 module, the following equipment is required:
Required Equipment:
- BitBox USB dongle with an active license for the Delphi MT05 module.
- A compatible J2534 pass-thru adapter (e.g., Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 or Scanmatik 3 / Scanmatik 2 Pro).
- For proper module operation, it is recommended to use a reliable Boot-Bench adapter (e.g., Scanmatik TunerWire).
- Stable bench power supply (12V) when working on the bench.
