BitBox Adds Bosch MG1/MD1 Gen2 Support for BMW and MINI
The latest BitBox software update expands support for modern BMW and MINI engine control units by adding compatibility with Bosch MG1/MD1 2020+ ECUs based on the NXP SPC5777 processor.
Support has been added to the Bosch MG1/MD1 Gen2 BENCH [SM2/SM3 ONLY] module for both gasoline and diesel BMW and MINI vehicles manufactured from 2020 onward.
The update adds support for:
- Bosch MG1/MD1 2020+ ECUs
- NXP SPC5777 processor
- BMW gasoline vehicles
- BMW diesel vehicles
- MINI gasoline and diesel vehicles
- BENCH-mode communication
- operation with Scanmatik 2 (SM2) and Scanmatik 3 (SM3) interfaces
The new protocol significantly expands BitBox coverage of newer Bosch MG1 and MD1 engine management systems used across BMW Group vehicles. It provides ECU programming, diagnostics, repair, and chip tuning specialists with additional capabilities for working with the latest generations of BMW and MINI control units.
