In Jaguar XJ vehicles with the MC9S12XET256 processor in the BCM (Body Control Module) unit, problems with the EEPROM memory may occur. The reasons for this are strong voltage drops or disconnection of the battery terminals, which can lead to malfunctions in the car's electrical system, including:
- inability to start the engine with the ignition on;

- non-working central locking;
