ELS27 Adapter Revision 5.0 replaces the popular ELS27 version 4.0.
A new generation device with redesigned circuitry and additional protection, as well as an updated case. All adapters are produced in St. Petersburg.
What has been added and changed:
- Despite the fact that the adapter operates at USB 2.0 speeds, the transition to USB-C is justified by its convenience and the growing popularity of this standard. Finding a replacement for a MicroUSB cable is becoming increasingly difficult, which cannot be said about Type-C
- The protocol diagram has been redesigned and the connection (jumper) Pin 8 - Pin 9, as well as Pin 7 - Pin 12, has been removed. The mechanical relay has also been replaced with a separate transceiver and another one has been added for the CAN line on pins 12/13 (often used in Renault)
- Flash and EEPROM Programming Signal (FEPS) is a signal for switching ECU units into programming mode. It is used for Ford units before 2011
- The flashlight operates from 5V USB and helps to see the car's OBD connector in the dark. The flashlight itself cannot be switched off, and we selected a brightness that would shine sufficiently, but would not blind or consume much. When powered by the adapter from OBD (with a wireless module installed in the adapter), it remains off
In all other respects, the adapter remains the same ELS27, which is well known and has earned a good reputation. Each adapter still undergoes a full check before sale and has a 1-year warranty.
Main features and capabilities of the adapter:
- full compatibility with ELM327, ELS27 performs all functions of ELM327
- the adapter is assembled on the original STN2120 processor by ScanTools
- ELS27 supports KKL mode for cars that are diagnosed via K and L lines, for example, old VAG and others
- supports all CAN buses (HS CAN, MS CAN, SW CAN, MM CAN) without external switches and jumpers, the adapter has a built-in multiplexer
- works at high speeds (up to 8 Mbps)
The ELS27 adapter is supported by many programs, including Forscan, FoCCCus, ELM config, Stool, ELM-FFn. Many program authors add ELS27 to the list of supported equipment, as the adapter has an excellent price/quality ratio. Please note that neither our store nor the ELS27 manufacturer are the authors of diagnostic programs. Almost all programs are distributed for free, program support and answers to questions can be found on forums and websites of program authors.
Many sellers position ELS 27 as a scanner for Ford and Mazda, but we do not agree with this - ELS27 is a universal diagnostic scanner. This opinion arose because there are many programs with very deep functionality for Ford and Mazda. The adapter is very popular among Ford club enthusiasts.
